IN GETTING NEWS ITEMS
2/11/08 Ruth Candela, at Momtefiore, and she says she in not in any pain but
will be returning to University Hospital perhaps by the end of this week. This
revisit will be to finish the repair of her ankle. After that probably a return to
Montefiore.
W.B. Frank Candela is in University Hospital with a heart problem. He was
rushed to the hospital because his “pace-maker” didn't function properly,
however electrical shocking did start proper heart operation. He should be
returning home very shortly. Phone calls and a good word are always welcome.
Also as an additional note; I spoke to Ann Jacobs and she is coming along just
fine after her recent surgery.
2-24-08 2-24-08 Ruth Candela will be going back to University Hospital on
Thurs., Feb. 28th for the final surgery on her ankle. After that she will be
returning to Montefiore for more rehab. W.B. Frank Candela will be going
home on Sun., March 1st. He is feeling pretty good and is looking forward to
returning home.
4-4-08 Brother Philip Wexberg is at home after having had successful hip
surgery
Brother Dennis Rohal was admitted to the hospital for various tests where it
was found that he did not have a hart attack but he is still undergoing test to
determine the cause of his problem. He is home now and does like phone calls
from his Brothers.
4-13-08 Sally Zimmer, wife of late Brother Irving Zimmer passed away.
Visitation will be at the residence, 19427 Winslow Rd. on Tues. following
services until 8:00 p.m. and Wed. 1-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Beverly Kahn, wife of Brother Leonard Kahn passed away. Visitation will be at
the residence located at 23511 Chagrin Blvd. on Monday, April 14th only.
4-15-08 Brother Jacob (Jack) Karlin has been a resident of the Montefiore Home
for over a year but has had no communication with any brother. Brother Jack
is confined to an electric powered wheel chair, since his legs are paralyzed. He
is also a diabetic. He can not live at home since his house is not “disability
acceptable”. Any visitations, cards or phone calls will be greatly appreciated.
4-17-08 W.B. Alan Klein P.M. of Forest City Lodge died today. His funeral will
be on Wednesday April 23, 2008 At Berkowitz Kumin Memorial Chapel. The
time will announced at a later date. Please look for more information on
subsequent updates.
4-22-08 Brother John Klein is in Hillcrest Hospital in intensive care with
breathing problems. He will later be going for Gaul Bladder surgery after his
breathing problem is stabilized
5-3-08 Brother Pete Molay is in University Hospital undergoing many test in
order to determine the cause of internal bleeding.
Gloria Orlove, wife of W.B. Frank Orlove was hospitalized for a short while but
has been released and is now at home recuperating.
5-26-08 W.B. Marvin Hersch passed away on Sunday night. His funeral will be
tomorrow Tuesday the 27th at 2:00pm a Masonic service will take place at 1:
45pm. Please try to be there at 1:30pm.
W.B. Hersch was the Master of our lodge in 1989. Marv was very active in our
lodge and served as L.E.O. after the passing of Dave Kaplan. Recently he served
as a installing Marshall in our last installation. He also was in charge of The
Past Masters phone committee.
6/24/08 Hospitalized or recuperating either at home or in a nursing facility
Brother Theodore (Ted) Berman is in The Cleveland Clinic being treated for a
swallowing disorder.
Brother Bernie Shepard was at Hillcrest Hospital and is now at home
recuperating.
Marjorie Kest wife of Brother Sheldon Kest is at home recuperating from her
stay in the hospital.
J. W. Allen Hammes is at home after going through a bout with his heart
monitor. At the present time he is still not allowed to drive, but will be attending
Lodge functions when a Brother will graciously provide transportation
Shirley Kutash, wife of Brother Sanford Kutash is recuperating after having had
open heart surgery and artery bypass. She is presently undergoing rehab. at
Menorah Park .
Brother Gary Lidawer is at home after his stay in the hospital for a favorable
treatment with his heart monitor.
Brother Lenny Markowitz is now residing at Menorah Park and would
appreciate any visit, card, or phone calls.

Hannah Friedman daughter of W.B. Steve & Heidi Friedman has
been chosen for the girl's basketball team from the Cleveland
JCC for the 2008 Macabbi games to be held this August in
Akron, Ohio
5-18-08 Meghann Joy Snow, daughter of Bro. Louis and Myrna
Snow , to Warren and Aaron Snow and granddaughter of W.B.
Alex and Millicent Rosenberg, has received her Master's of Fine
Arts in Painting and Drawing from Parsons The New School for
Design. She is employed by Parsons The New School and
teaching Hebrew at Congregation Rodeph Sholom in New York
City.
